Don’t Rely on Employer Grievance Policies

While being familiar with your employer’s grievance policies is very important many of these policies were created from a reactionary perspective, not a preventative one. They have been designed to address problems and conflicts at the point that a problem requires intervention for damage control and are alos design typically to protect the company, not necessarily the employee.

We are encouraging companies to be forward-thinking and embrace a preventative approach to conflict through the adoption of Managerial Mediation techniques.

This approach begins with raising your level of Conflict Competency which includes

  1. developing conflict literacy
  2. measuring conflict styles within your organisation
  3. building conflict management skills
